The Practice

It begins with a stone. And a pause.

The Noticing Stone™ is a simple, tangible invitation to come back to yourself. To practice, hold the stone in your hand -- without expectation, without effort. Let your hand feel its weight, its texture, its coolness or warmth,

Then ... simply notice.

Notice your breath.

Notice what's happening inside you or around you.

Notice if your mind is racing, or if your heart is tight.

Notice what is true in this moment.

That's all. You've begun.

​

The practice doesn't require silence, or sitting still, or "getting it right." It's a quiet returning -- again and again -- to the present. Some people carry their stone in a pocket or bag. Others keep it by the bedside, at their desk, or in the car. Each time you hold it, let it be a gentle reminder:

Pause. Notice. Return.
