Welcome to The Noticing Stone. I’m glad you have taken a moment to visit our Blog.

Some days arrive gently; others seem to tumble into our laps with too much noise, too many demands. This morning, I found myself caught in a tangle of half-finished tasks, my thoughts running three steps ahead of my body.

Then I noticed the small stone on my desk. I picked it up and let it rest in my palm. Its surface was smooth, cool at first, then slowly warming to my touch. I felt the weight of it—nothing remarkable, yet entirely real.

For a few breaths, the lists and thoughts faded. There was only the stone, the sound of my breathing, and the faint hum of the day around me. It wasn’t that my concerns disappeared; they simply stopped pulling me away from the moment I was in.

The world didn’t change. I did.

It’s a simple shift, but a profound one: when our thoughts begin to spiral or scatter, we can interrupt the momentum. We can choose to pause, notice, and return to the present moment.

I invite you to try it. The next time your thoughts do not serve you well, place a Noticing Stone in your palm. Feel its presence, its steadiness. Let it anchor you back into your breath, your body, your now.

Pause. Notice. Return.

Until next time, remember, Mindfulness is in the palm of your hand.
